Prowave earns money from some of the links on this site. This page sets out which links, who pays, what the reader pays, and what the payment does and does not change about the coverage.
The disclosure in three sentences
Some outbound links on this site are paid affiliate links. When a reader follows one of them to World of Tanks and then creates and activates a game account, an advertising partner pays Prowave a commission for that introduction. The reader pays nothing extra, the publisher's own sign-up is unchanged, and the payment buys the placement of the link and nothing else.
Which links are paid
Every paid link on this site points to the same destination and is presented the same way: an orange button reading "Visit the World of Tanks website", with a note immediately underneath it saying that the link is paid. They appear in three places and nowhere else: on the homepage, in that title's section of the comparison page, and on its own entry page.
Every other outbound link on this site is unpaid. That includes every link to the publishers' own sites for Crossout, Enlisted, War Thunder and World of Warships, and all links to Australian public bodies such as the ACCC, the Australian Classification Board, the eSafety Commissioner, the Australian Cyber Security Centre, Scamwatch and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. None of those organisations pays anything to be linked, and none has any relationship with this site.
Who pays, and for what
The commission is paid by an advertising partner that operates the affiliate programme for the game, not by the reader and not directly by the game's publisher. The event that triggers payment is described by the advertiser as a single opt-in: a reader creates an account and activates it. A click alone does not produce a payment, and no payment depends on the reader spending money.
The amount is small and is paid per completed sign-up rather than as a share of anything a reader subsequently spends. Prowave has no visibility of what any individual reader does after leaving this site. It does not know who followed a link, whether an account was created, or what happened next; what arrives is an aggregate count from the advertising partner.
What it costs the reader
Nothing. Following a paid link does not add a fee, raise a price or alter the terms on which the publisher deals with you. The destination is the same one you would reach by searching for the game and going to its site directly, and you are welcome to do exactly that. The only difference between the two routes is that one of them pays for this site.
What the arrangement influences, and what it does not
It would be convenient to claim that commercial arrangements have no effect on editorial output. That claim is rarely true anywhere, and it is not the claim made here. What is true is this:
What the commission does affect
- That this site exists at all. There is no other revenue source: no advertising slots, no sponsored posts, no paid placements and no subscriptions.
- That one title in the library has a dedicated entry page with links on it, while the other four are covered within the comparison.
- Which title appears in the two places on this site where a call to action is present.
What it does not affect
- The order of any table or list. Ordering is alphabetical by title, everywhere, without exception.
- What is said about the paying title. Its entry states the limitations, the absence of a mobile version and the fact that no price is verifiable, in the same plain terms used for every other title.
- Whether the other four titles are covered fairly. They are described from the same sources by the same method, and none of them pays anything.
- The absence of rankings, scores and recommendations. There is nothing of that kind on this site for an advertiser to influence.
What determines the coverage instead
Inclusion in the library depends on four things: that the title is an online multiplayer vehicle combat game, that it is distributed as a download at no purchase price on at least one desktop platform, that it is currently operating, and that it is reachable from Australia. Payment is not among them. Attributes are recorded from public bodies first, the publisher's own current site second, and the publisher's attributed marketing material third; where none of those answers a question, the site says so. Editorial control
The advertiser and the advertising partner see no content before publication, have no approval rights over anything on this site, and cannot have a statement removed or softened. No copy on this site has been supplied by them. Where the advertiser's own product description is used, it is attributed to the publisher in the sentence that carries it, precisely so that a reader can tell a marketing claim from a verified fact.
How the links are built
Paid links point directly at the advertising partner's destination address, visible in the
browser's status bar before you click. They are not routed through a redirect on this domain, not
assembled by JavaScript, and not altered after the page loads. Each carries
rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" and opens in a new tab. Nothing on this site
behaves differently depending on where a visitor came from, what browser they use or which country
they are in.
Regulatory context
Under the Australian Consumer Law, a publisher must not engage in misleading or deceptive conduct, and advertising that is not obviously advertising is capable of misleading. That is the reason for the disclosure box on the homepage, the note beside every paid link and this page. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission publishes guidance on advertising and selling, including disclosure of commercial relationships, at accc.gov.au.

Prowave is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. Product names are used only to identify and describe the products discussed. No publisher named on this site has reviewed, approved or endorsed its contents, and nothing here should be read as an official statement from any of them.
